Andrea grew up in Louisville Kentucky, where she trained at the Louisville ballet school and performed with the professional company since age 4.  Through a summer intensive dance program, she was awarded talent scholarship to Interlochen Arts Academy, a boarding school exclusively for students focused on a professional track in the arts. After graduating, she continued courses in higher education at the University of Hartford’s conservatory program, the Hartt School.  While attending college on scholarship, Andrea performed professionally with Nutmeg Conservatory, Dance Connecticut, and in freelance projects in NYC including Steps on Broadway Choreographic Showcase and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude, high honers with a BFA in Ballet Pedagogy and Kinesiology.  After graduation, Andrea returned home to perform again with The Louisville Ballet, then with Nashville Ballet for two seasons, and as principle dancer at Ballet Quad cities for the remainder of her ballet career.  While performing she dedicated her free time to studying Pilates and exploring restorative movement and rehabilitative exercise.  She fell in love with Pilates as a way to recover the body from extensive dance training and overuse.  She moved to San Diego in 2012, and has since began a Pilates studio where she works with individuals of all ages and walks of life as well as professional athletes.  In addition to teaching Pilates and dance she performs with Malashock Dance Company.
