HANDSTANDS ( Ages 13+ )

Handstands are the foundation of all acrobatics.

Our handstand class is open to beginners to advanced students. All students begin their training with wall handstands and flexibility for warming up. Jean-Luc then will then separate students into pairs where you will be given a set of drills to perform during your class. First time students will be evaluated by Jean-Luc during the beginning of the class and partnered with a student who has attended his classes in the past. With Jean-Luc’s assessment of your handstand he will guide you on what needs attention and build your handstand program for the day and your next class, making sure you understand your physical needs to your goals.

TEETERBOARD : Interview only ( Ages 13+ )

Teeterboard is a group activity that requires pushers, flyers, and spotters. Using a see-saw type apparatus, a student can either be launched from the teeterboard onto a mat or back to the board. We call the landings back to the mat an “exit”. In teeterboard, you can also do timers which are also also called “back to board” where a person flies in the air, completes a trick, and lands back onto the teeterboard, launching his or her partner into the air. This continues until they decide to stop. Teeterboard is the most amazing group activity which can be exciting and a great compliment to trampoline.

STILTS : Interview only ( Ages 13+ )

This Stilt walking class is a specialty class which has requirements. Please contact us prior to registering. This class requires weekly commitments and the interest in purchasing your own stilts. Socks, shin guards, and knee pads are required. Wrist guards and elbow pads are recommended. The art of stilt walking has roots in Africa, China and France. Pole stilts, invented centuries ago by farmers and shepherds to travel marshy and flooded areas, require more balance than the “dry wall” stilts more widely used for their stability. Pole stilts, however, offer more freedom of movement and elegance to the stilt dancers. These pole stilts and the dancers that employ them have evolved through the ages from the original folk dances of yesteryear to modern day acro-stilting and stilt-theatre.
